EVALUASI SEDIAAN LIP BALM DARI EKSTRAK KENTAL DARI MAHKOTA NANAS (Ananas Comosus (L) Merr) SEBAGAI AGEN LIP BALM

Abstract. Lip balm is a cosmetic preparation that is applied to the lips which functions to moisturize the lips. The pineapple crown plant can be used to keep the skin of the lips moist, especially on lips that are easily dry and chapped. The aim of this research was to find out whether pineapple crown can be formulated as a lip balm moisturizer. This research was carried out experimentally. lip balm formulation with pineapple crown extract (ananas comosus (L) merr) using concentrations including 5%, 10%, 15%. Physical quality checks on preparations include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH and irritation checks. The results of this research indicate that pineapple crown extract can be formulated into a lip balm dosage form using concentrations of (F1) 5%, (F2) 10%, (F3) 15%. And it has fulfilled the requirements for the preparation test, namely the homogeneity test and no irritation to the skin of the lips. The pineapple crown form that has been formulated in lip balm preparations forms a good lip balm preparation, namely the three preparations seen from the results which show that lip balm from pineapple crown extract can moisturize the lips.
