Abstract
Perineal rupture is an injury to the birth canal that occurs during the birth of a baby, whether using tools or not using tools. Perineal rupture is caused by parity, birth spacing, baby's weight, improper delivery, vaginal extraction, phacumic extraction, instrument trauma and episiotomy. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between parity and the incidence of perineal rupture in PMB Azimah Amd. Keb, Jambi City in 2024. This study used a retrospective approach method. The population in this study was all mothers giving birth at PMB Azimah Amd. Keb, Jambi City, there were 31 samples of women giving birth who experienced perineal rupture. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The results of the research that has been carried out show that the results of data analysis using the Chi Square statistical test show that the parity p-value = 0.006, which means there is a relationship with perineal rupture. The conclusion of this study is that parity is related to perineal rupture because primiparous mothers have never given birth so the perineal muscles have not stretched.
