Abstract
Balanced nutrition has a pyramid-shaped food arrangement pattern, namely conical upwards. Where each component is the most important portion of food for consumption (Jayanti and
Novananda 2017; Pratami, Widajanti, and Aruben 2016). At the lowest level there are staple foods, then vegetables and fruit, protein (both vegetable and animal), and consumption of sugar, salt and oil (Nuzrina 2020). Balanced nutrition has 4 main pillars, namely consuming a variety of foods, adopting a healthy lifestyle, the importance of physical activity, and maintaining an ideal body weight. The four pillars above are important guidelines for getting used to healthy living and having good nutritional intake for body growth or development such as school-age children (A. Y. Damayanti, Fatima, and Setyorini 2018).
The implementation of balanced nutrition requires assistance regarding this implementation and becomes one of the strategies to encourage children to change their lifestyle to be healthy and provide provisions for when they grow up. Regarding the goal of continuing the nation's struggle and ideals, the younger generation, such as children, have an important role to play in building and advancing this nation. Therefore, it is necessary to increase human resources, such as understanding balanced nutrition, so as to minimize susceptibility to disease (Asiyah 2021). Increasing human resources requires a strategy to optimize good nutritional status and healthy food consumption (Utari, Rohmani, and Prabasiwi 2022). This is important to do because a person cannot develop his or her capacity to the maximum if the person concerned does not have good nutritional and health status (Thamaria 2017).
